It all started back when I was in college… I worked at the most awesome summer camp called Camp Balcones Springs for three summers! CBS is an outdoor christian camp in the hill country outside of Austin, TX. Those were easily some of my favorite summers ever! I met AMAZING friends and learned SO much about myself! One of those amazing friends was Teryl! We were both on leadership together which meant we got to be roommates all summer long! Summer camp has a grueling schedule with long, HOT days and little down time, but being surrounded by awesome people like Teryl made it so much easier!

Fast forward five years (!!! has it really been that long?!) and I got an email from Teryl that she and Thomas were engaged and they wanted ME to be their photographer! I was so honored and excited 1.) because I get to be a part of their big day and 2.) because I get to go back to Texas and see old friends! Since Buddy had never been to Texas and he wanted to see what the hype was all about, we both flew down last week for Teryl and Thomas’ engagement session!

**Side Note** Although Buddy has long disliked Texas because it “took me away from him for all those summers”, we quickly learned that he might, in fact, be a true Texan at heart…the pick-up trucks, Wrangler jeans, the sprawling land, rustic ranches, and the TEXAS BBQ (the Salt Lick anyone??!)! He was in heaven and I’m sure I’ll never hear him say another negative thing about Texas again (…unless, of course, it involves the Dallas Cowboys, but that’s a whole different issue!) 🙂

It was so awesome catching up with Teryl and getting to know Thomas better! I am so happy for this sweet couple and I really can’t wait for their wedding! Here are some of my favorite shots from their engagement session at the Montesino Ranch in Wimberly, TX…also the place they are getting married!! It is SO beautiful and I can’t wait to go back!
